Before traveling to Budapest, we were pretty unsure of what to expect. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Budapest is filled with amazing food, sights, nightlife, people, culture, history and much more. During our stay, we saw and experienced many of the things Budapest has to offer.

Budapest seen from Gellért Hill.

We stayed at The Hive Party Hostel, which happens to be the only hostel in Budapest with air conditioning. Major key.

The New York Café was our first stop. It’s the oldest café in Budapest and has been around for hundreds of years. The café has been the home and inspiration to many famous authors, directors, and artists. This place is a must if you plan on traveling in Budapest. Additionally, the food is to die for. Below are some photos of our experience at the New York Café.

Budapest is a mecca for thermal baths. These baths are an old tradition that dates back hundreds of years. In Gellért, there are roughly 15 different pools that range from moderate to high temperatures. Below are some photos I took during our first thermal bath experience.

Below is a massive food market filled with endless street food, butcher shops, wine, fruit, vegetables and so much more. This is a great place to stop for some fresh and cheap food.

One night we happened to run into my dad's good friend and business partner, Ron. Ron and his girlfriend treated us to a traditional Hungarian meal along with some wine.

This is Belvárosi Disznótoros and it's rated as one of the best butcher shops in the city. If you're looking for blood sausage or other traditional Hungarian meats, this is the place for you.

Above is some insanely good orange juice that I felt compelled to share for all the Juicers back at Cal Poly.

Below are some of my favorite photos I took throughout the duration of our stay in Budapest. Enjoy.

On our last night, we watched the sunset at Gellért Hill. This quickly became one of our favorite locations in the city due to its amazing views. Above is a shot I captured right as the sun was setting.
